Casual users looking to transform their existing photos and videos into slideshows without a lot of effort will find what they need with Pixgram, but the simplified interface won't make the grade for most professionals. This lightweight app offers a simplified interface that lets you mock up slideshows in a simple matter of seconds. But that simplicity is also its Achilles heel. That's because, despite a few simple artistic flourishes, there aren't a lot of features or options to work with here.

In terms of user accessibility, it would be hard to imagine Pixgram's developer doing a better job than what they already have. The app is surprisingly small in size, so it downloads quickly, doesn't leave a major imprint on your phone's memory, and loads up in a matter of seconds. It's not a resource hog either, so you should be able to whip it out and get to work even if you're on an outdated phone or running multiple other apps in the background at the same time. The interface is clean and simple, making use of a drag and drop interface that's highly intuitive. Anyone with a working understanding of modern apps should be able to jump right in and start making slideshows with no instructional guidance required.

A simple import function allows you to automatically get access to all of the photos and videos on your device, and from there it's a simple process of stacking them together into your slideshow. Videos and pictures can also be resized to fit within the larger framework, but that's about it in terms of how you can edit your pictures and videos. There are significantly more options when it comes to producing your videos. You can set the speed of your slideshow - although there's a somewhat limited choice of options there - and you can also add or remove watermarks and assign titles to your finished product. The coolest function here probably comes in the form of filters. A wide variety of effects are available, and while you don't have a lot of control over editing these filters individually, they should cover all the basics if you're just looking to add a few bells and whistles to your slideshow. The final major production effect comes in the form of music. You can upload your own music to create more dynamic video experiences, but there's also an extensive library of music you can find directly through Pixgram's mobile interface. Over a hundred different options are available, and they cover a variety of different options.

Pixgram integrates directly with a number of different sharing services as well. If you're looking to share your slideshow over YouTube, Bluetooth, email, or text, you can accomplish that with the simple tap of your finger.
